Design Optimization Engineer Ross Foulkes delivered Introduction to Design Optimization training via webinar to 14 South African partners as part of Franklin’s training program. Representatives from Pragmaworld, SAMD and IPM were in attendance.
The training aims to help Franklin Fueling Systems’ partners understand the concepts of design optimization, so that they can deliver the same reduction in the total cost of ownership that has made Franklin an industry leader.
The optimization process helps to reduce material costs and labor costs by making site layouts as efficient as possible. Additionally, this can reduce the amount of on-site labor which helps make installations safer.
In the example used during training, the optimization process resulted in significant savings:
• 36% decrease in pipe length
• 62% parts decrease in mid-pipe joins
• Approximately 14.5 hour savings in exposure on site
“I found this very interesting and informative, especially look forward to learning more about the new electrical solution that we will implement as soon as it is available.” - Albert Ahlers of SAMD
